    Global economic war

Even after a trade war broke out between the U.S. and China, U.S. retailers didn't shift their Christmas purchases to other countries, even though Christmas decorations were among the most affected items on President Donald trump's list of 5,745 items that would be subject to a 25% tariff.Despite the 10 per cent tariff, us merchants this year bought about 90 per cent of their Christmas lights and wrapping paper from China.

The impact of a trade war with China is more apparent in the changing cost of raw materials.

The United States is not the only country that needs to celebrate Christmas.
